I was hesitant to read this book at first, as it seems that most of the literature about Joseph Smith is either scathingly skeptical or blatantly dogmatic. Joseph Smith: Rough Stone Rolling. 4 stars. He does not whitewash the history like some LDS historians. I don't accept this book is a 'warts and all' biography - it's just a biography.
